• Up early around 0545 for the river mist. We saw the mist started to collect at the foothill of the mountains around the turn of upstream before dinner time last night. • Walked uphill from the resort and took a few photos of sooty-headed bulbuls before breakfast. There were other birds, but it was too dark and they were too far to get any good photos. • Thick river mist could still be seen passed beyond breakfast around 0730 • Kevin took some hot dogs to feed the resident dogs, which were likely trained not to get too close to the cafeteria. I think they liked him. • Took some photos of several unidentified birds due to poor lighting; will figure them out once having a chance to push a few stops in the post processing • After the breakfast, we left for the Death Railway. We arrived at the Thamkrasae Station, where the Thamkrasae Bridge and Thamkrasae cave are nearby. • We did not wait for the train to arrive, which would have been more than an hour, but we had coconut juice at one of the stands at the station • The next stop was River Kwai Bridge. Today, we approached the bridge from the south, on the river's west bank. We then climbed up to the abandoned rail bridge and walked towards the other end, where there is a busy market full of tourists. We had more coconuts there from a stand operated by a transgender woman who put on quite a show selling the coconut (who appeared to be having a real-time on-line show streaming from her cell as well). • Lunch at The Goodway Raft Restaurant on the river bank across from the market • The next stop on agenda was Mina Café, but we had to change the plan because it was closed on Wednesdays. We drove up to the Phalad Waterfalls, but they were completely dry. So, we head back to the resort for the river float starting at 1630. • Kevin and I both floated today, together with a large group of community tourists from an eastern Thailand town. They partied on the pontoon. It was fun. • Dinner at 1830 and turned in early tonight around 2000
