• Tears at Chiang Mai International Airport, some had to return to Taipei; we continued the rest of the trip 淚灑清邁機場 • Back to the Villa and checked out, moving onto the smaller but powerful Toyota Yaris • Stopped a few times including a roadside fruit stand and local market, bought mandarins, strawberries, avocados, chestnuts, chicharron, and pants with elephant print; didn’t buy the roasted field rats though • Kevin spotted a Malaysian Pied Fantail while stopping at a gas station to use the restroom; I took some photos • Stopped at another gas station where we had fried chicken for lunch at a KFC • 素可泰, 泰國第一個王朝 • Sukhothai Historical Park by 1600, rented a golf cart for 2 hours and visited 4 sites briefly • Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Sawai, Wat Traphang Ngoen, and Wat Sa Si with the Traphang Trakuan Pond • Tamarind is the symbol of Sukhothai • Checked in at the Midtown Sukhothai Resort • Pad Thai for dinner, eating on a mat by the pond in the night market right outside of the Historical Park; the best local honey lemon soda at another stand
